The Sopchoppy Worm Gruntin' Festival will be held on April 14, 2008, and is a one-day outdoor event in the streets of historic downtown Sopchoppy, Florida when the citizens honor their local practice of worm grunting. This form of bait harvest involves driving a wooden stake into the ground and rubbing a bar across it to create vibrations that force worms to the surface. Throughout the day there is a wide assortment of live music and other entertainment including games for children.

The Earth Day celebration will be held on April 22, 2008 (or the weekend before or after) at Hudson Park in Crawfordville. Watch this site for more details as they are known.

The annual Carrabelle Riverfront Festival will be held on April 26-27, 2008 in Carrabelle. Visitors can enjoy the maritime atmosphere and coastal charm while dining on traditional seafood specialties and old-time favorite foods.

On May 3, 2008, the annual Blue Crab Festival will celebrate Panacea's rich heritage, from the days of the mineral springs to the era that ushered in a boom in the seafood industry to today's emphasis on eco-tourism and more resource-friendly pursuits. It is a celebration of the community's heritage, a tribute to the past and a look toward the future. The festival kicks off with the traditional parade down Coastal Highway 98 to Wooley Park on Dickerson Bay, where the main event is located. There are children's activities such as pony rides, face-painting, games, a bounce house, a rock-climbing wall and more.

The St. Marks HuManatee Celebration will be held on May 17, 2008. The area welcomes the manatees back to Wakulla County waters with a full day of live music, local artist exhibits, educational exhibits and canoe race. Manatees visit warm-water sites in Florida during the winter so that they can survive the winter. During the rest of the year, they disperse around Florida's coastal areas like the Wakulla and St. Marks rivers. The HuManatee Festival in St. Marks celebrates their return to this area of the state.

The 4th of July celebration in Sopchoppy will be held on July 4, 2008 (or the weekend before or after). This is a fun day for all, with activities for the children and the adults who want to relive their childhood!! Of course, there will be awesome fireworks after dark.
